This week’s activity challenge was to take on a new persona to see how other people react to you, and if they react differently. To do this, I decided to dress in sporty attire, and act bubbly and fit. Basically, I became a personal trainer.
I concluded that people did, in fact, treat me more differently. Strangers with whom I struck up conversations were more likely to talk about fitness with me, and less about studies or scholarly things. They asked me what sports I played, as well as for suggestions or recommendations for the best running playlist.
What I took away from this experience is that people do react to you differently, depending on how you are dressed, so you should always “dress to impress”!
